I had learned a lot of things regarding sound in the production world. Thing like diegetic to non diegetic sound and foley sounds are all used in some of your favorite tv shows or even movies. Im now able to recognize these sound on my own time when watching movies and shows at home.
For our first sound project, we had to create a scenario in which a lot of audio would be used. The scenario had to be interesting and not boring to listen to. It was a minimum of one minute which was enough time to develop a plot for the audio. During the brainstorming, it was challenging to think of something that would actually sound interesting. After a few idea, we settled on a famous women ripping her dress while on her way to an event. This project engaged us in a way that we had to really think about all the sounds that would be necessary for the storyline. To organize all these thoughts, we separated the scenes into an outline and thought about what sounds would fit into the timestamp. After gathering all that information, we put our project together through clipchamp. I think we did a pretty good job putting together all the sounds but I think some of the sounds are too quiet and some were too loud. LeScheuermann_soundscape_per4.m4a
For our second sound project, we had to revisit our one word film. The first project we were assigned had no audio whatsoever; the next project was to add audio to it. Since the previous project had no dialogue, it was easier to match up time stamps so that nothing sounds delayed or unrealistic. When planning, we did an outline similar to our first project. We seperated the scenes and determined what sounds we needed to add in order to match the video. Then we got to work and matched up the audios to the clips. I used the editing app 'Kinemaster'. I did feel like this project had a lot of missing sounds but i just couldn't tell what. Also, some of the sounds I wasn't able to find online and they were difficult to make foley sounds. I think my timing was good for the most part and everything felt natural. OWFSound_Scheuermann_.MP4
